An expanding business which is the first of its kind
in North Yorkshire to receive the Government’s Quality Mark has
relocated to Colburn’s innovate! Centre.
Principal Teachers, founded 6 years ago by Rebecca Morgan from
Grinton, arranges supply teaching staff for primary and secondary
schools throughout the County and the North East. The
Department for Education and Skills’ Quality Mark recognises
agencies and Local Education Authorities who meet strict criteria
regarding interviewing and training staff, checking and managing
performance and encouraging professional development. Mrs
Morgan ran the business from home, but continued growth led to the
decision to move to a larger office environment.
“We have been extremely fortunate over the past 5 years to be
able to run our business from home. However due to our recent
successes, and being awarded the Quality Standard Mark, we decided
to seek alternative premises”, says Rebecca Morgan. “We knew
about innovate! as we used their conference facility for teacher
interviews and had always been very impressed by the professional
and helpful staff. We didn’t look at any alternative venues,
innovate! was our first, and final choice.”
Principal Teachers, which was started with a grant from The
Prince’s Trust, currently has over 100 supply staff on its books,
and also operates a short-listing service for schools looking to
appoint teachers to more permanent positions.
“I’m delighted to welcome Principal Teachers to innovate!”,
says Centre Manager, Abi Bromirskyj. “As a managed workspace,
we aim to offer the perfect environment for businesses which have
outgrown a home base and are aiming for more expansion, providing
them with administrative support and a location with the
professional touch to match their aspirations”
The business has just been awarded a £1500 grant by
Richmondshire District Council. The funding will be used to
produce a range of marketing materials and brochures aimed at
further expanding the business.

Yorkshire Forward and European Union Funding.
