Yorke Square shrub planting this weekend

GREEN-FINGERED residents are being invited to enjoy the Spring sunshine at a community shrub planting event this weekend.

Last year, a major public consultation into the future of the Yorke Square car park in Richmond produced a number of ideas, one of which was to plant shrubs to make the area greener.

That planting will take place on Saturday, April 4, from 10am – and anyone is welcome to come along and join in. It will also be an opportunity to see the changes that have already been made at Yorke Square, and find out about future plans.

Richmondshire District Council will supply the necessary training and equipment, so anyone wishing to take part simply needs to turn up on the day with appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.

You can find out more about the Yorke Square consultation on the Council's website, richmondshire.gov.uk/yorkesquare.
