WEATHER PROBLEMS CONTINUE

Refuse and recycling collections have been disrupted by the weather again today.

All garden waste and recycling collections for glass, cans, paper and plastic in Richmond have been cancelled. Residents are being asked to take their bins, bags and boxes in until their next scheduled collection day.  They should place the excess glass, cans, paper and plastic out on their next collection day or take it to their nearest bring to site  - see www.richmondshire.gov.uk  for details.

Garden waste collections have now been suspended until after the Christmas shutdown, when they will re-commence, weather permitting.  Anyone needing additional capacity can get green bags free of charge, by calling 01748 828777.

Refuse collections in Colburn, The Chase and Regents Park have also been cancelled today - collections will be made as soon possible with residents advised to leave their bin out until it is collected.

Commercial waste customers should leave their bins out and every effort will be made to make collections on any main roads which are passable and gritted - bins should be left out until they are collected.

Crews have been unable to return to collect refuse from the areas of Simonstone, Sedbusk, Swineside, North and South Walden, parts of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale, Hudswell, Downholme, Stainton, Hurst, Marrick and Marske which were inaccessible on Thursday and Friday, However they will make every effort to return as soon as there is a break in the weather.
