Volunteers are needed to join the small team looking after Leyburn’s tourists throughout the year.

The town’s Tourist Information Centre is looking for people with a local knowledge that have a few hours to spare every week.

The market place centre is open seven days a week throughout the summer dropping to six days from October 28 to March 29, 2010.

"We are looking for people with at least two hours a week to spare who knows a little about the area and its attractions," said Councillor Jimmy Wilson-Petch, spokesperson for prosperous communities.

"It maybe someone who is retired or just someone who likes meeting and helping people."

Free training is given including on-site/in-house training plus nationally recognised TIC volunteer training and there is the opportunity for local attraction and accommodation site visits.
