Area meetings newsletter out now

A NEWSLETTER highlighting the issues raised at Richmondshire District Council's latest area meetings is now available.

More than 60 people attended the two meetings, held in Manfield and Hawes (representing the eastern and western parts of the district) last year.

The newsletter features notes from question-and-answer sessions with Chief Constable Grahame Maxwell and Assistant Chief Constable Sue Cross, of North Yorkshire Police, as well as a round-up of comments about services made by residents.

It is available in printed form from any Community Office.

Richmondshire District Council has two scrutiny committees, chaired by Councillors William Heslop and Paul Cullen.

Cllr Heslop said: "The new form of area meeting encourages public participation, and it has an exciting role to play in the future."

Cllr Cullen said: "We are continuing to look at ways in which to improve how we listen and respond to the views of the communities we serve."

If you have any views on the district's area meetings, or topics you would like to put forward for discussion, contact the Council's Scrutiny team on 01748 829100.
