VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to help man the Citizens Advice Hambleton, Richmondshire and Selby and District services – especially at its Richmond office.

Citizens deals with over 10,000 enquiries each year and needs more trained voluntary advisers to meet the ever-growing demand.  No specific qualifications are needed as full training is given.

Rachel Hunter from the charity explained: “Volunteers in our organisation are an indispensable part of the service we give to people.

“They undertake all sorts of tasks, but most of them work in an advisory role.  This could be providing advice and assistance by phone, email, webchat or face to face in the office at Newbiggin, Richmond or at one of our other venues throughout the districts.

“I am hugely grateful to all of the fantastic volunteers who give up their time to help us deliver the advice to our clients which, in the face of such a tough pressure on people’s personal circumstances is more vital than ever.

“Volunteering with a Citizens Advice is a great way to pick up skills, make friends and feel part of an enthusiastic team. And it’s not just worthwhile - volunteering can also be fantastic fun and hugely rewarding.”

Full training is given and travelling expenses are paid – to find out more check out  www.citizensadvicehrs.org.uk or contact 01748 826532 for an informal chat.
