Three local charities have received donations of over £400 each thanks the fundraising by the past chairman of Richmondshire District Council.
Councillor Tony Duff handed over cheques totalling £1223 to Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR), Help for Heroes (H4H) and Richmondshire Community and Voluntary Action (RCVA) – money raised through raffles and donations during his year in office.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is the only charity dedicated to tackling the county’s cancer problems and priorities and work to ensure that people diagnosed with cancer have the best possible treatment and care.
Help for Heroes supports people with injuries and illnesses sustained while serving in the armed forces, providing support for the whole family in their goal to rebuild lives.
The RCVA is the Local Support and Development Organisation (LSDO) for Richmondshire and the Volunteer Centre, providing a range of support services to voluntary and community groups, organisations and volunteers.
