The Council is seeking a self-motivated person with a genuine interest in working with older people for the position of Resident Warden at the Council’s Sheltered Scheme at St Edmunds, Brompton on Swale Richmond, North Yorkshire.
A Resident Warden’s duties include contacting the residents to ascertain their well-being and obtaining further appropriate assistance as required for them. The Resident Warden will be responsible for running a sheltered scheme, liaising with other agencies on behalf of the residents and the Council. Wardens need to have a flexible approach to work and will be required to work independently, using their own initiative to solve problems and deal with emergency situations.
The successful candidate will have experience of maintaining confidential records and have experience of using a computer and be IT literate.
The role is part time 6 mornings a week. However, wardens are expected to provide on call cover 6 nights a week as well.
There is a rent free two bedroom flat, within the Scheme, which the successful applicant will be expected to move into.
The Salary is £9.36 - £10.07 per hour, £18,070-£19,430 pro rata per annum. This is a permanent position.
