30 Hours per week

Grade 8, £22,658 to £24,964 per annum, pro rata

The Council is seeking expressions of interest to the post of Housing Options Advisor. 

We are looking for a motivated and well- organized person to play a key role within the Housing Options Team.  You will provide an advice service to members of the public who are seeking information on re-housing options in the District and across a variety of tenures. You will be responsible for the assessment and discharge of the Council’s statutory homelessness duties, with the focus on the development of innovative homelessness prevention measures and will

co-ordinate the placement of homeless households into and across the range of temporary accommodation available. 

You should have experience of housing advice, homelessness or tenancy allocations service and have a current and comprehensive knowledge of private and public sector housing law, tenure options available and the welfare benefits framework. You should have an appreciation of the circumstances that cause homelessness and be able to identify, devise and implement solutions which address the range of difficulties experienced by homeless households.

You should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have a clean driving licence and the use of a vehicle.
