New information for Private Landlords with properties to rent in the Richmondshire area
Richmondshire District Council is committed to partnership working with landlords and other agencies to improve the condition and management of housing within the private sector. The Housing Options Team will manage the Landlord Accreditation Scheme operating within Richmondshire.

Bond Bank Scheme
The Housing Options service, in partnership with a number of agencies, currently provide a range of options to help avoid homelessness occurring. One of these options is the Bond Scheme, where the Council may assist a client financially, by paying a one off bond payment to secure private accommodation. Strict criteria applies and both the application form and income and expenditure form below need completing to establish whether a client qualifies for the scheme. In some cases the Housing Options Team may be able to help you financially with a bond payment in order to prevent homelessness.
To be eligible for consideration for the Bond Bank Scheme applicants would need to satisfy the following:
- to be under threat of homelessness
- to have a local connection within Richmondshire
- to be considered vulnerable by the Housing Options Team
- to be in receipt of one or more benefits to be assessed by the Housing Options Team.
