Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007
The Richmondshire District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Askrigg and Low Abbotside) Parish Council Order 2010
Richmondshire District Council has undertaken a Community Governance Review of the parish arrangements for Askrigg and Low Abbotside. The review considered whether the existing arrangements are reflective of the identities and interests of the community in that area; and effective and convenient to the local community. It also took into account the impact of community governance arrangements on community cohesion; and the size, population and boundaries of the parishes.
The review was carried out in response to a petition to create a new parish council of Askrigg and Low Abbotside parishes, to dissolve the existing Askrigg Parish Council and to be grouped under a common Parish Council to be named Askrigg and Low Abbotside Parish Council.
The Council has now concluded the final stage to the review and the Reorganisation Order is on deposit on the Council’s website http://www.richmondshire.gov.uk/ and at Swale House, Frenchgate, Richmond, North Yorkshire DL10 4JE
