New Cycling Group

Richmondshire District Council, with the help of local volunteers, is hoping to set up a new cycling club for the beginner cyclist.

There are usually groups to be seen out and about on the roads wearing Lycra tights and funny shaped helmets, but for the majority of us, just getting onto our long unused bike and venturing a mile up the road can be a daunting prospect.

The group will be based in the Richmond/Catterick area and not only will there be volunteers to get each ride started, but there will also be loan bikes to be borrowed if your own has rusted away with neglect!  Looking for an April launch, we would very much like to hear from you if you would like to be part of this new social cycling group.  The priorities are obviously an improvement in fitness levels but just as importantly, an enjoyment in the local countryside, increased confidence on a bike and with a refreshment stop on each ride, the chance to make new friends.
