What is sheltered housing?

Sheltered housing is accommodation for older and vulnerable people who are aged over 60 years.  This accommodation enables the person to live independently,  and includes the following types of property:

  • self contained studio apartments 
  • 1 and 2 bedroom flats
  • 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows.

Some are specially adapted, all have the benefit of a Resident Warden living on site and a 24 hour emergency alarm system.
