Hello Parishioners, Scotton Ward is a very special safe place to live, it is in close proximity to Catterick Garrison, the A1 and also the Dales are a short distance away. There is a garage and an excellent Parish Community Centre which has a modern play park, an allotment area and a car park, which is available for all Scotton parishioners to use and enjoy. I look forward to working with the Parish Council. Please feel free to contact me, your local District Councillor if I can advise or assist in any issues for Scotton Ward.
I was born in Scotton, I am married to Ken and we have one son Mark and a grandson Ewan.
I played a major part as the Scotton District Councillor in supporting the Tesco Superstore at Catterick. I secured the funding from North Yorkshire County Council for the footway over the bridge on Bedale Road with Parish Councillors, which took nearly thirty years to achieve. I also played a leading role as Chair of Scotton Parish Council in securing funding for the new play park, car park and footpath to connect Hawthorne Avenue with Oaktree to bring the community together.
I was a District Councillor for twelve years and a Parish Councillor for over twenty years. Scotton impacts on my life, because I know that as a Councillor I can work with other agenices to make it a better place to live in. Parishoners deserve to be rewarded with good facilities. After recently retiring after 47 years with the Civil Service I can now devote more time to Scotton to achieve its goals.
My family - geneology, gardening and history.
