Personal Background
 
I was a Board member, operations manager and staff manager, with responsibility for purchasing, of a company importing & selling caviar, foie gras and other luxury foods to the restaurant, retail and airline sectors.  I held a budget in excess of 1.5 million pounds.
 
Council/Community Background
 
  • Chairman of Bewerley Parish Council (Nidderdale) - six years
  • Councillor on Hunton Parish Council - two years to date
On early retirement, I was elected parish councillor to Bewerley Parish Council in Nidderdale.  I served for eight years, six as Chair.  I led Bewerley Council, representing the parishioners' interests in various forums.  I was also a member of Nidderdale Strategic Partnership, Chairman of Nidderdale Safer Neighbourhoods Group/Police Liaison Committee and Chairman of Pateley Bridge Millennium Green Trust.  I was also the liaison between Bewerley Parish Council and the RAF Menwith Hill/USAF Menwith Hill Station.  I am still also the Nidderdale Branch of the Royal British Legion liaison officer for parish councils & RAF/USAF Menwith Hill.
