Standards for England (formerly known as the Standards Board for England)

Standards for England

Standards for England is an independent public body appointed and funded by the Government.

The Board's main task is to provide strategic oversight and support in order to ensure that standards of ethical conduct are upheld across local authorities. The Standards Board provides guidance, advice and useful resources on matters relating to the Code of Conduct. The Standards Board also investigates the most serious complaints against Members and complaints that for other reasons are inappropriate to be dealt with by local Standards Committees.
