Complaints against
Members
The Standards Committee (England)
Regulations came into force on 8 May 2008 and have transferred
responsibility for receiving and considering complaints that
Members may have breached the Code of Conduct from Standard for
England to local authorities' Standards Committees.

If you want to complain about the conduct of a member
of Richmondshire District Council or a member of one of
the Districts Town/Parish councils, you should submit your
complaint to:

Your complaint will need to be in writing.
The Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the
behaviour of a District Councillor or a Town/Parish
Councillor. It will not deal with complaints about things that are
not covered by the members' Code of Conduct. If you make a
complaint to the Standards Committee it must be about why you think
a member has not followed the Code of Conduct.
