Postal Voting

If you are unable to attend your allocated Polling Station on election date you can choose to vote by post.  In the run up to an election there is a deadline for the applications to be received by the Electoral Registration Officer.

Postal Voting

Anyone who is registered to vote can choose to vote by post, you do not require a reason to apply. To vote by post you need to complete a Postal Voting Form.

This involves:

  • Postal Voting applications must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer no later than 5pm on the date specified for that election. (At election time see the Election timetable for details)
  • The postal ballot packs will then be sent to you between 5 to 8 working days for you to complete and return by close of poll on election day.
NB: A signature waiver only applies to someone who is unable to give a consistent signature due to illness eg stroke or broke wrist, etc.  It does not apply if the person is away and unable to sign the form.
