I am the Councillor for the ward of Gilling West, the beautiful,
rural area south of the A66 with its villages of Gilling West,
Ravensworth, Gayles, Whashton and Kirby Hill; settlements at Aske
and Sedbury.
Personal background
I have lived and worked in Sedbury all my life; as have my
ancestors. I have deep roots in the Ward, involved in farming the
land there.
Council Background
I was elected to the Council in November 2006 in a
bi-election. The work of a Councillor has opened my life to new
challenges and acquaintances.
Other Interests
The farming of beef cattle has a fascination that can be all
consuming but I make time for other interests such as church,
community work, love of walking, history and literature but people
are very important.
Events and Surgeries
I do not hold regular surgeries, but I am available to be
contacted by telephone and e-mail at any reasonable time with any
concerns.
