A Personal Licence authorises a person to supply alcohol or allow the supply of alcohol in accordance with a Premises Licence, and such personal licence is 'portable' throughout England and Wales.  An applicant must apply to the area in which they are ordinarily resident.

To apply, read the Guidance notes for personal licence application, then complete and return the Personal Licence Application and the Disclosure of Convictions and Declaration forms to the Licensing Team, Richmondshire District Council, Mercury House, Station Road, Richmond DL10 4JX, together with the fee of £37.00.

Personal Licence Renewal

Following on from the introduction of the Deregulation Act 2015, from 1st April 2015 a personal licence is now valid indefinitely.  This will mean that any person who currently holds a personal licence in England and Wales will not need to apply to their local licensing authority for a renewal.  It is worth noting that the personal licence itself may have an expiry date on it, however if this date is on or after 1 April 2015, there is no need to renew it.  Personal licence holders are urged to remember that any changes to their personal details or address will still need to be provided to the relevant local licensing authority.
