Richmondshire District Council operates Tourist Information Centres (TICs) in Richmond and Leyburn .
Staff at both Centres are dedicated in providing a high standard of service and have built up a wealth of experience and knowledge to help you get the most from visiting Richmondshire. Although the website is able to provide a huge amount of information, nothing quite beats the personal touch, so do call into the Centres where staff are happy to discuss and advise you on particular requirements. Richmondshire’s two Tourist Information Centres are lending their support to British Tourism Week.
They are holding two open days to give local business operators the chance to meet centre staff and volunteers. The open days will also allow operators to check out information about local attractions, local transport, events and activities not only in Richmondshire but across North Yorkshire and the Dales.
There will be information on the electronic local and national accommodation booking service and ticketing for local events. And accommodation providers will be able to view the TICs interface with Guestlink on which the accommodation night list is now based.
The week long British Tourism Week aims to demonstrate that tourism is critical to the economy of the UK. It seeks to encourage a greater appreciation of the value of providing a quality tourism product and to raise local, regional, national and international awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain’s £114 billion visitor economy.
Richmond’s TIC open day takes place on Thursday March 18 and Leyburn’s on Friday March 19 from 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm
