Richmondshire District Council is responsible for
ensuring that buildings are properly designed and constructed so as
to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people
using them.
All building work must comply with the
Building Regulations current at the time the work is
undertaken.

On 1 April 2010 Richmondshire joined the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership. The partnership consists of Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough, Selby and Hambleton Councils. The partnership provides the full range of Building Control services throughout the five council areas.
The partnership is based in Easingwold at:
