Removal of Garden Bins from Non-Subscribing Households

Since the introduction of the chargeable garden waste service in February last year 9,500 households have signed up to the scheme. Arrangements are now being made to renew subscriptions for the service from April.

It’s not too late to start subscribing for the garden waste service from April. Prices have been frozen at £17 per year for one bin and £12 per year for each additional bin. Please contact 01748 828777 to receive subscription information and retain your garden bin.

Please note that there is no requirement for you to subscribe to the service – it’s your choice.

Arrangements are also being made to gather in the bins not in use since the introduction of a subscription only service. Residents who do not wish to subscribe to the service are being asked to place their bins out for collection in a suitable location at the front of their property and accessible by the crews between Monday 2nd and Friday 13th February 2015 or Monday 16th and Friday 27th February. Please refer to your letter for more specific details.

If you would like to keep your garden waste bin for your own use, please contact our customer services centre on 01748 828777 - arrangements can be made for you to purchase your bin at a cost of £10.

The garden bin which was provided for your household remains the property of the Council. Therefore, if you do not contact us to make any of the above arrangements and your bin is not placed out for collection during the allocated period, arrangements will be made to invoice you £10 for the cost of the bin.
